Restoring Apple TV ios, firmware, software :

After you download your desired firmware below, to restore your Apple TV,

Windows (hold shift and click Restore)

Mac (hold option and click restore)

Then a file dialog will pop up, and then select your desired firmware.

Note: (For Windows): if your computer changes the .ipsw file into a zip file, then just rename it to .ipsw and it will work.

Windows (folder options>view>hidden files and folder> select (show hidden files, folders, and drives)

Note: (For Mac): Don’t let safari auto unzip the file.
